End of Week Recap Post: April 4-10

    Last week when LCD Soundsystem played their final shows, I asked if April was the cruelest month. With a huge loss like that, it certainly seemed like it. This question’s still up for debate, but take a look at the recap below. If this week proved nothing else, it’s that April might be a little crazy at times, but at least there’s a lot to look forward to, especially if you’re a music fan. Coachella and Record Store Day are fast-approaching, some of the most anticipated titles of the year are set to drop in the next few days…

    — Album streams galore! NPR started offered an early taste of Panda Bear‘s Tomboy, and you can hear TV on the Radio‘s Nine Types of Light right now on Rhapsody.

    Bonnaroo announced a round of additions to its already massive lineup.

    Details on The Creators Project‘s plans for Coachella 2011 surfaced.

    The Grammys did a little bit of category overhaul.

    — As always, plenty of Record Store Day-related news to report. Not only will Jack White and Jerry Lee Lewis get together, but My Morning Jacket have some exclusive releases planned as well.     Radiohead’s King of Limbs came in at #6 on the Billboard Top 200.

    — A certain Cee-Lo Green song finally reached number one.

    Cults announced their debut album.

    Incubus revealed they’ve got a new album coming out this summer.

    Bloc Party ended their hiatus.

    — There’s a brand new Death Cab for Cutie single to hear and a “live video” to watch.

     

    Kate Bush unveiled a new track called “Deeper Understanding.”

    Kings of Leon will screen their yet-to-be finished documentary at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.
