Whenever a new choreography comes along, it creates the nagging question of where we go from here. What dance styles are left to discover within the constraints of the human body? No one has the answer yet, but Gemini Club was willing to give it a shot. In Bernard Ong’s video for “Future Tidings,” a man dressed completely in white (with the exception of a black tie and visor) moves to the beat of the song as geometric shapes float around him. Is this the coming style? Is this a new form of breakin’? Are we seeing the future, or an echo of the past?
