Swans, Battles, Deerhoof added to ATP New Jersey

With a lineup topped by the reclusive Jeff Mangum and the awe-inspiring Portishead, who is also curating two of the days, the New Jersey edition of ATP’s I’ll Be Your Mirror music festival provided one good reason to head to the Garden State this summer. (Hopefully Springsteen announces a tour so we have another.)

Set for September 30 – October 2 in Asbury Park, the festival has announced a new batch of acts, including Swans, Battles, Deerhoof, Peanut Butter Wolf, and Manorexia featuring Jim Thirwell (Foetus).

Plus, Oneida will follow up their past appearances at ATP New York and UK with a staging of Ocropolis, their multidisciplinary studio/performance space, at the Asbury Lanes Bowling Alley. The band will perform continuously throughout the day, sometimes with guests from the rich array of musicians also performing in the festival, sometimes alone and mostly improvised, according to an issued press release.

The original three day passes (with inclusion into Mangum’s Friday night performance) are sold out. However, ATP is releasing a small amount of “Portishead Three Day Passes” via the festival’s website at 10am EDT tomorrow. These passes do not include access to the Mangum show, but do allow passholders to see everything else from Friday-Sunday as well as giving priority access with the day pass holders to BOTH Portishead shows on Saturday and Sunday. Single day passes are also available. Click here for complete ticketing information.
