These all-out music blog takeovers usually go in shifts: we went from Kanye to Radiohead to Foo Fighters. Now, it appears to be My Morning Jacket‘s turn as Jim James and co. are ramping up the publicity campaign behind their forthcoming studio album, Circuital, due for release May 31st via ATO Records. After saying “yes” to a slew of summer music festivals and dropping their new album’s lead single, not to mention the launch of a self-hypnosis series, the band took to Lexington, KY’s Memorial Coliseum last night, where they previewed another new track. Above, you can check out the cut entitled “Wonderful (The Way I Feel)”; the video quality is rough, but Jim James’ vocals manage to retain their ever-captivating quality.
According to Rolling Stone, the song was among the first ones written for the new album and was performed during the band’s 2010 summer tour. In fact, the track was originally inspired by Gorillaz-style tour featuring Muppet holograms. Unfortunately, that project has since been scrapped.
There are plenty more opportunities to see My Morning Jacket perform this song and others on the road this summer:
