Loss and loneliness, while hurtful for all, can absolutely shatter someone in certain situations. That’s the case that befalls Marissa Nadler in the video for “Baby, I Will Leave You In The Morning.” Directed by Guy Benoit, it features Nadler’s smooth, melancholy vocals as she reminisces in a white wedding dress. She walks through the rooms of The Grand Manor in Pawtucket, Rhode Island as memories of her lost love filter through an old film. The sadness eventually consumes her as she loses grip on reality and becomes lost in a fever dream.
“Baby, I Will Leave You In The Morning” is the first single off Nadler’s forthcoming self-titled album out June 14 on her own Box of Cedar Records.
