My Morning Jacket webcast to feature Erykah Badu and Rachel Dratch

On the evening of May 31st, My Morning Jacket will celebrate the release of their latest LP, Circuital, with a live webcast from the Louisville Palace Theater. And while MMJ rocking out live for the entire world is enough to get most folks hovering in front of their laptop, Jim James and co. have decided to spice things up even further with the addition of two women who couldn’t be more opposite.

Along with director Todd Haynes, the concert/webcast will feature the talents of neo-soul queen Erykah Badu and actress/comedienne Rachel Dratch. Dratch, who came to fame as a Saturday Night Live cast member from 1999 to 2006, will be involved in an as-yet-unveiled narrative segment, while Badu’s part will be a more straight-forward guest spot. Bit of history: Badu previously played with MMJ during a gig in her hometown of Dallas, TX, which you can relive in video form below.

MMJ’s YouTube’s Unstaged webcast goes down at 9 p.m. EST/6 p.m. PST on Tuesday, May 31st. Circuital hits stores the same day via ATO Records.
