Every geek’s favorite podcast, Nerdy Show, has launched yet another remix contest. Inspired by the Marvel Vs Capcom video game series, your task is to create some beats ready for battle, using samples from just about anything related to the Marvel or Capcom universe: television theme songs, movies, scores, soundtracks, and, of course, video games. (Is it just me or would a Mega Man/Spiderman Theme song mash-up be the jam?)
This year’s judges are some heavy hitters in the name of nerd-rap. Video game connoisseurs MegaRan (aka Random), 8-Bit Duane, and My Parent’s Favorite Music join the likes of comic book-inspired spitters Adam WarRock, The Wordburglar, and Tribe-One.
What is your prize for concocting the best beat? The aforementioned rappers will each select their personal favorite, and create an original rhyme over it. The eventual outcome will be a one-of-a-kind, six-track mixtape with music solely provided by the nerd kingdom. Note some fine print details like keeping the tune under four minutes long and the quality at 128 kbps or better.
The contest promptly ends on May 31st at 11:59pm EST. Head over to the Nerdy Show for all the details on the Marvel Vs Capcom 3-on-3 Mixtape Melee.
