Alaska-born, Portland-based Portugal. The Man are now major label rockers after signing a deal with Atlantic Records. The announcement also brings news of the band’s next full length effort, In the Mountain in the Cloud, which drops July 19th, along with a summer worth of U.S. tour dates.
Produced by both John Hill (Santigold, M.I.A.) and the group’s long-time collaborator Casey Bates, the record stands as the group’s sixth LP and promises to at last capture the band’s unique, giant-sized live show on tape. Below you can hear the album track “Got It All (This Can’t Be Living Now)”, which sounds epic in scope without being overly sprawling and losing the band’s rocking edge. The tour, which will see support from Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Telekinesis, will run throughout the months of May and June. Along the way, Portugal the Man. will also make stops at the Hangout, Bonnaroo, and Lollapalooza music festivals.
