Nowadays, the word “shock” has lost all meaning. With having survived through the careers of Madonna, Marilyn Manson, and now Lady Gaga, there’s not much left out there to find shocking. Creepy on the other hand? Well, just watch Mike Moore’s video for The Coathangers‘ “Hurricane.” In an hospital or mental institution gone wrong, the leading ladies tear along in unfocused, destructive steps. They collide into walls in a tiny room, tie each other up, dance psychotically, and break anything they find. “Shocking”? No. Creepy? Hell yes.

“Hurricane” is the lead single for the Coathangers’ new album, Larceny & Old Lace, due out June 7th.

Directed by: Mike Moore
Cinematography: Ilir Imeraj
