Red Riding Hood is widely considered to be a children’s classic in this day and age. However, I don’t think the version Elysian Fields came up with is quite what parents had in mind. Rather than being a Saturday-morning cartoon, directors Lance Scott Walker and Christopher Rosales transport us to a world closer to True Blood, where seduction and danger meet on every corner. The cold growls of our (human) wolf and the whispers of our femme fatale Riding Hood add a pulse to the blood red lighting, dark and sensual.
