You don’t need a heavy concept or huge backstory to make an interesting documentary. Sometimes, all it takes is a camera, a cardboard sign, and a whole lot of beats. Two days after President Obama was elected, human beatbox Shockwave parked himself in Union Square with two microphones, an amp, and a sign that read “Free Beats.” From there, he left it up to the citizens of the city to provide the entertainment. Some people sang. Some played instruments or danced along. Others… attempted to rap. And some people were Reggie Watts.
