Peter Hook returns to North America to perform Joy Division’s Closer

Last year, Joy Division bassist Peter Hook brought his post-punk band’s debut, Unknown Pleasures, to select North American cities with his current backing band, The Light. This September, Hook and Co. return stateside to perform Joy Division’s acclaimed sophomore effort, 1980’s Closer. While he’s out on the road, Hook will also hit a few of the cities he skipped on the first Unknown Pleasures visit.

Fans shouldn’t be too surprised at this jaunt. After all, this tour is the latest in a series of Joy Division-related projects that Hook has been working on these days. Just this month, the Joy Division/New Order compilation album, Total, surfaced, chronicling the evolution of the two bands as it collects their hits and rarities, including unreleased New Order track, “Hellbent”. And this past April, Hook released an EP with The Light that includes the unfinished 1977 Joy Division track, “Pictures In My Mind“. So, all in all, a pretty surreal time for Joy Division/New Order fans – an exciting one, too.

Stay tuned to see what else Hook has up his sleeves. In the meantime, here are your tour dates…
