It’s hard to explain what exactly took place in the first of Jack White’s three appearances on The Colbert Report this week, but I’ll try anyway. In conjunction with his week-long summer concert series, StePhest Colbchella, Stephen Colbert is attempting to revive “his days as a rocker” by enlisting the help of the rock and roll icon. In part one of “2011: A Rock Odyssey featuring Jack White,” Colbert travels to Nashville to meet White, and their conversation evolves from a discussion on artistic integrity to how “Seven Nation Army” would make a great soundtrack for a Dannon Yogurt commercial.
