The title of Kijek/Adamski’s piece translates into the words “under construction.” Given the evolving nature of each scene and bit imagery, the tile makes perfect sense. Although it can be read as a loose interpretation of the poem “Creating the World” by Czeslaw Milosz, it also reflects that author’s thoughts on film. He described the medium as something “that claims to show the reality.” Despite how realistic some films can appear, the images still never match our world exactly. All we do is render them as close to their target as possible. They’ll always be “under construction.”
