Check Out: The Kooks – “Junk of the Heart (Happy)”

The Kooks’ third LP Junk of the Heart hits stores September 13th via Astralwerks. Already, the UK indie poppers have doled out two sneak peeks to keep fans antsy: one far out and psychedelic, the other sweet as a brick of bubblegum. Now, our next taste of the record, which comes to us courtesy of NYLON, is the album’s title track. The cut, available for listening below, is a slightly ’80s-inspired ode to the end of summer to be played at star-covered bonfires the world over.

In addition, the four-piece also recently announced a 15-date tour of the U.S. that kicks off November 15th in Philadelphia, PA and runs till December 13th in San Francisco, CA. Check out the entire tour schedule below (including their lengthy tour through the UK and Europe until early November.)

In conjunction with the tour, each online ticket purchase yields a free MP3 of  “Junk of the Heart (Happy)”. Plus, every ticket sold in North America will offer the buyer the chance to pre-order an exclusive version of the album, which comes with an acoustic cut of “Rosie” that’s unavailable anywhere else in the U.S.
