Sometimes parallels shape the past and present, sometimes those parallels can even be perceived as prophecy. In Andrés Barrientos and Carlos Andrés Reyes’ animated short, En Agosto a ancient prophecy starts to show signs of coming to pass in a future where most of the cities are underwater. The woman at the epicenter of this realization has a tie to the past when all of these events may have been set in motion and comes to term with her impending doom. An incredible piece of animation, that will leave you thinking about it long after it’s over.
