Straightforward concepts often match straightforward music the best. When you’re stripped back to just Marissa Nadler‘s haunting vocals and acoustic guitar, anything elaborate would distract from the music. In the case of “Alabaster Queen”, director Joana Linda lets Nadler simply walk around a forest. Dressed in an elegant gown, the songwriter touches branches and wanders through fallen logs as she finds peace in beauty of nature. It’s a dreamy video perfect for the morning.
