Aside from a few remaining Stone Temple Pilots tour dates (placed conveniently below), rocker Scott Weiland seemingly doesn’t have much in the way of revenue-generating ventures in progress. With Velvet Revolver going in another direction and last year’s Christmas album not in stores until this Xmas, there’s only one solution: suckle off the teat of rock’s biggest names with a covers compilation.
According to Antiquiet, the blandly-titled A Compilation Of Scott Weiland’s Cover Songs sees Weiland tackling tracks by some big-name musical heavyweights, including Radiohead, The Beatles, David Bowie, The Stone Roses, Depeche Mode, The Smiths, and The Flaming Lips. Mr. Weiland apologizes now if most of the tracks end up sounding the same.
The entire package is available to download for a mere $15 (that’s more than what his memoir is going for on Amazon).
