In the last eight months alone, The Flaming Lips have done a lot of, well, unconventional things. From playing cemeteries to hiding new songs inside gummy fetuses, they always pepper their musical output with something that’s truly fun and wacky. But this latest effort may very well take the marijuana-flavored candy brain for most adventurous idea. In a series of tweets, frontman Wayne Coyne posted two videos, both of which are available below, that preview the band’s latest creation: a six-hour song. Yes, that’s no error: a six-hour song; a song that lasts for 360 minutes. No word yet on when and if the actual track will be released, but stay tuned for more on the cut as it’s announced. And people thought “Stairway to Heaven” was long.
