Adult Swim’s Singles Program 2011 has yielded must-hear cuts from the likes of Best Coast, Mastodon, El-P, The Tallest Man on Earth, and more. Now, as the series concludes, our last bit of dope noise comes to us in a little ditty from New York hardcore punk act Cerebral Ballzy entitled “On the Run”. Right below, you can watch the exclusive premiere of the track’s corresponding music video.
Directed by Jonathan Rej and Tom Bingham of Atlanta, GA’s Authority Films, the video harks back to old-school skateboarding videos from the ’80s. For the sake of authenticity, pros Christian Hosoi, Lance Mountain, Mike McGill, and Steve Alba all make cameos in order to give the viewer the best grinds, ollies, and assorted tricks we couldn’t do in a million years as possible. The effort may not be a masterpiece like The Search for Animal Chin, but it’s gnarly nonetheless.
A downloadable mp3 of the track will be available Tuesday, August 16th via Adult Swim’s website. Cerebral Ballzy’s recent self-titled album is now available via Adult Swims Williams Street Records.
