The Strokes are not necessarily known for their improvisation, but the NYC-based indie icons sure do love their surprise guests. Jack White’s guest appearance at Radio City Music Hall in 2002 remains one of the best YouTube clips you’ll ever see, and Elvis Costello joined the band at Madison Square Garden earlier this year. For their latest on-stage surprise, at the UK-based Reading Music Festival on Saturday, The Strokes brought out Pulp frontman and fellow indie-rock innovator Jarvis Cocker for a cover of The Cars’ “Just What I Needed”.
