North London-based singer-songwriter Elena Tonra (aka Daughter) first earned our respect with the release of her debut EP, His Young Heart. In just a few songs, the effort defined the 21-year-old’s sound: emotionally evocative female folk that skillfully blended the Irish tradition with the music of icons from Bob Dylan to Neil Young.
On November 21st in the UK, Communion Records will release Daughter’s follow-up in The Wild Youth EP. Comprised of four tracks, one of the EP’s cuts, “Love”, is available for streaming below. In the six-minute number, Tonra continues to explore grand, lonesome soundscapes with her spell-binding and ethereal vocal stylings. Consider her on a very big roll.
