This year has already seen two releases from psych-folk-rock upstart Kurt Vile: the LP Smoke Ring For My Halo and a split tour-only 7″ EP with Woods. Now, Matablog reports that Vile has another batch of songs ready to go and will release them on a EP called So Outta Reach on November 8th. Available digitally and on 12″ vinyl, the six-track effort includes five leftovers from the Smoke Ring For My Halo sessions, along with a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Downbound Train”. Below, you can hear the cut called “The Creature”.
And if that weren’t enough, Vile is also readying a two-disc deluxe reissue of Smoke Ring For My Halo. Also due out November 8th via Matador, this new edition includes a new color cover, plus the aforementioned So Outta Reach EP on a second disc, all at the same price as a regular CD. Head on over to Matador to place your pre-order.
