If you’re scratching your head, wondering if you’ve ever heard The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, let me clear up the ambiguity: you have. You’ve heard at least two of their poppier, acid-jazz drenched hits. You’ve also likely broken out into spontaneous dance to their infectious brand of big band psych pop without even realizing it. If you’re still not placing the reference, perhaps this popular Heineken commercial will jog your memory.

Now for the exciting news. On January 31st, the Copenhagen ensemble will release Out of Frequency, their sophomore follow up to their 2009 debut, Fruit. Already we have a first listen of it with “Major”, which you can stream below. As the band puts it, “Major” will “seduce you with its 70’s blaxploitation-esque horn stabs and edgy vocals that are the perfect balance of commanding and sweet.” See if you agree with them and check out the handful of tour dates remaining below.
