The last time Detroit rapper Black Milk was on our radar, he was releasing a 7″ on fellow Motown native Jack White’s Third Man Records. Now, Black Milk is teaming with another resident of The Motor City in up-and-coming MC Danny Brown for the aptly-titled Black and Brown EP.
The duo first hooked up on the track “Black and Brown” from Black Milk’s 2010 record, Album Of The Year (the track will also appear on this effort). Featuring production from Black Milk and Brown on the mic, our first taste of the LP comes in the track “Zap!” Brown’s frenetic spit meets its match in the patchwork, rock-influenced style of Black Milk, making for a track whose true color is actually golden.
