After Cass McCombs dropped the sullen Wit’s End this past April, the California-born singer-songwriter announced plans for a second album in 2011, the decidedly upbeat Humor Risk. Now, our latest taste from the LP comes in a re-imagined rendition of album track “Robin Egg Blue”. Featuring additional production from Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij, the little ditty is decidedly sweet, with the thud of the instruments and the tone of McCombs’ vocals actually making this something worth moving to. While it won’t be on the album, the track will appear as a bonus cut on the iTunes version. Humor Risk hits stores November 8th via Domino.
