After this morning’s unveiling of the thing we’ve dubbed Doorsillex, we hope to make it up to you with the collaboration between DJ Premier, Nas, and the Berklee School of Music Orchestra. “Regeneration” is an especially apt title, in that the track generates a new lifeform from the grand sound of orchestral music and the heavy boom of hip-hop. It should also regenerate your hope in music ever being enjoyable again. Check it out below (via VIBE).
As previously reported, the collaboration comes courtesy RE:GENERATION, a new film by director Amir Bar Lev that pairs together five popular producers with artists from five different generations. Other collaborations include Skrillex with The Doors, Pretty Lights with Leann Rimes and Ralph Stanley, The Crystal Method with Martha Reeves, and Mark Ronson and Erykah Badu with members of the Dap Kings and Trombone Shorty. The film is scheduled to debut in early 2012 as part of Grammy Week.
