Check Out: Fences cover Nirvana’s “School” (CoS Premiere)

Last week, we directed you towards a duo of cover songs: Bright Eyes featuring First Aid Kit doing The White Stripes’ “I Can Tell We’re Gonna Be Friends”, and Albert Hammond Jr.’s take on Big Star’s “Thirteen”. Both are featured on the just released benefit album Cool for School: For the Benefit of the Lunchbox Fund, and while the worthy cause and awesome lineup of covers should be enough to warrant your attention, we thought we’d give you another taste. Below, you can check out an exclusive premiere of Fences covering Nirvana’s “School”.

The “school-themed” compilation was brought about by the Gift Horse Project to support the Lunchbox Fund in supplying daily nutritional requirements to impoverished South African schools. No money was spent on the formation of the effort, with all the artists donating their time and energy. A good cause, some good music, and a bit of selflessness can go a long way. Check out the complete Cool for School tracklist below, and then hit up iTunes to download the album for yourself.
