Still shining bright from last March’s Lasers, Lupe Fiasco is now readying the release of his next mixtape, the long-delayed Friend of the People, due to drop this Thanksgiving. Our first taste of the hip-hop bounty comes in the form of “LightWork”, which sees Fiasco throw his verses on top of Bassnectar’s remix of Ellie Goulding’s “Lights”. The end result is a club-friendly beat with Fiasco’s rhymes moving away from some of the emotional content of Lasers and back to more displays of just how cutting his wit truly is.
