The fifth and final collaboration brought to you by Amir Bar Lev’s film RE:GENERATION teams super producer Mark Ronson, R&B goddess Erykah Badu, the rapper formerly known as Mos Def, and The Meters’ Zigaboo Modeliste with Trombone Shorty and members of the funkadelic soul band the Dap-Kings on a track called “A La Modeliste”. Check it out below, via RollingStone.com.
As previously reported, RE:GENERATION brings together five popular producers with artists from five different generations. Yesterday, we brought out three other collaborations from the film: Skrillex with The Doors, The Crystal Method with Martha Reeves and The Funk Brothers, and DJ Premier and Nas with the Berklee School of Music Orchestra. The fourth collaboration, a cover of Wayfaring Stranger by Pretty Lights, Leann Rimes, and Ralph Stanley, can be heard at Spinner.
The film is scheduled to debut on YouTube in early 2012 as part of Grammys Week. In it, all five producers — Ronson, DJ Premier, Skrillex, The Crystal Method, and Pretty Lights — will discuss their respective collaboration.
