Pulp frontman and Faber Editor at Large, Jarvis Cocker, releases his new lyrics book, Mother, Brother, Lover, this week. To commemorate the occasion, and subsequently make a rather nifty promo video, Cocker recently stopped by his secondary school, and the place of Pulp’s first-ever live gig, The City School in Sheffield. There, in front of an assembly of students, Cocker shared life lessons and performed a few tunes, including the first song he ever wrote, “Shakespeare Rock”, and Pulp’s “Babies”. He also used the opportunity to return some overdue library books; fortunately, the librarian doesn’t do fines. Check out the clip below.
