Video: Jarvis Cocker goes back to school

Pulp frontman and Faber Editor at Large, Jarvis Cocker, releases his new lyrics book, Mother, BrotherLover, this week. To commemorate the occasion, and subsequently make a rather nifty promo video, Cocker recently stopped by his secondary school, and the place of Pulp’s first-ever live gig, The City School in Sheffield. There, in front of an assembly of students, Cocker shared life lessons and performed a few tunes, including the first song he ever wrote, “Shakespeare Rock”, and Pulp’s “Babies”. He also used the opportunity to return some overdue library books; fortunately, the librarian doesn’t do fines. Check out the clip below.
