Video: Spiritualized debuts new songs in London

Earlier this year, UK dream-pop innovators Spiritualized scheduled an October 11th show at London’s Royal Albert Hall with the intention of debuting the fall 2011 release of their long-awaited seventh LP. As of October 5th, the album has been delayed until March 2012. However, the band still played that scheduled show, and according to London’s Evening Standard, they showcased a whole lot of the new album.

Sitting on a rickety stool, sunglasses glued to his face, taciturn to the point of awkwardness and, as ever, facing his band rather than the audience (and seemingly oblivious to the “turn around” chants), Pierce, plus band, female choir, string section and brass section unveiled the whole seventh Spiritualized album – still untitled and not due until next year – and finished their two- hour set with a tentative dip into the back catalogue.

Update: Below, you can hear a recording of the new song called “Hey Jane”. The audio was mastered by Eat lights Become lights.

Also, 130 BPM points to a fan-shot video of another new song, though the quality isn’t the greatest. Check that one out below as well.

In addition to the new album release date, Spiritualized have announced a series of shows in the UK and Ireland for March 2012, which you can find mapped out below. We’ll post more details on both the album and additional tour dates once they become available.
