Our own Frank Mojica described ”Vessel” as one of two tracks on Zola Jesus’ new LP Conatus that hinted at the “subtle diversity possible in the cool sea of darkwave.” Who knew Mojica may be a prophet, because the music video for the clip features that very body of water personified as heaps of black goo and waves in a pond. Zola Jesus head Nika Roza Danilova eventually emerges for the water, if only to completely annihilate her surrounding environment. Gosh, who knew swimming was such a violent sport?
