Some are finding comfort in calling Memphis born rapper/ producer Gavin Mays, a.k.a Cities Aviv, chillwave rap, but be careful if you float that word anywhere near the guy, or he might show you just how unchill he can be. The house beat that is teased on “Wet Dreams”, the cautionary tenor in his voice, and the sunny sample (that’s “Lori” from The Alessi Brothers) all weave together for something far more interesting and unique than “chill.” Give tit a spin below.
The track is also available on the Memphis rapper’s Bandcamp, and his album Digital Lows is out now on Fat Sandwich.
