Celebrating the massive achievement of reaching 25,000 Twitter followers, The Mountain Goats‘ John Darnielle has offered up a previously unreleased song for download. The “first explicitly ancient-world-related song in some time”, “Thucydides II-58” is a return to Darnielle’s lo-fi origins, with the track comprised of an acoustic guitar and Darnielle’s poignant vocals.
