Four months and two bands ago, Damon Albarn debuted his second opera, Dr Dee, in Manchester, England. Next summer, the production will return with a two-week run in London. But as Gorillaz-Unofficial points out, you can now hear a pretty extensive taste of Dr Dee via your computer speakers.
Earlier today, Albarn appeared on BBC Radio 6, where he previewed — wait for it — 11 songs from the opera’s soundtrack. Right now, you can catch a replay using the BBC iPlayer; you’ll also hear Albarn interviewed about opera. Below, you can hear the track called “Apple Carts” and watch a behind-the-scenes documentary.
Also below are the dates for the aforementioned London residency. Tickets for the shows go on sale Friday, November 4th via ENO.org.
