Scott Walker’s The Drift reissued on vinyl

Since The Walker Brothers disbanded in 1978, Scott Walker has popped his head out of the London fog once every decade to deliver a new album upon the world. In the first part of the new millennium, that album was 2006’s highly-received The Drift. Today, some six years after its release, 4AD is reissuing The Drift on vinyl. No bonus tracks appear to be involved in the double vinyl release, but being able to spin some of Walker’s finest grandiose baroque theatrics under the needle is still a treat.

In addition, 4AD’s website indicates that Walker, who spends much of his time scoring various theater productions, is currently at work on his 14th studio album. Until then, this new edition of The Drift will have to suffice. The full tracklist is ahead, followed by the haunting “Jesse”.

    The Drift Tracklist:
    01. Cossacks Are
    02. Clara
    03. Jesse
    04. Jolson and Jones
    05. Cue
    06. Audience
    07. Buzzers
    08. Psoriatic
    09. The Escape
    10. A Lover Loves
