A documentary 10 years in the making, Eric Green’s Beautiful Noise chronicles three influential shoegaze bands: My Bloody Valentine, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and Cocteau Twins. As Pitchfork points out, the film recently launched a Kickstarter page, seeking to raise $75,000 to help fund its worldwide release.
Beautiful Noise tells the story of these bands and the shoegaze genre through interviews with Kevin Shields, Jim Reid, Robin Guthrie, Bobby Gillespie, Wayne Coyne, Trent Reznor, Billy Corgan, and Robert Smith. Many other bands make appearances throughout the film, including Ride, Slowdive, Chapterhouse, Lush, Curve, Swervedriver, and Medicine.
Check out the film’s trailer below. The campaign ends December 15th.
