When not directing The Road or Lawless, John Hillcoat has created videos for the likes of Depeche Mode, Nick Cave, and Muse. His latest endeavor comes in support of How to destroy angels_’s “Ice Age”, off the band’s An omen_ EP.

The mini-movie finds Mariqueen Maandig sing longingly from a window of a dusty old cabin as Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, and Rob Sheridan play along in the background. Eventually, the quaint scene is invaded by a storm of foreboding clouds and eerily distorted home movies. Watch it slowly unfold below.
