New Music: Darkstar – “Amplified Ease”

English electronic outfit Darkstar — not to be confused with fellow countrymen Dark Star of psych rock fame — return on February 5th with their sophomore album, News From Nowhere. Streaming below is the lead single “Amplified Ease”, which was inspired by a screening of Martin Scorsese’s recent documentary on George Harrison.

    As Darkstar’s James Young explains:

“We had been watching the Martin Scorcese documentary on George Harrison and took an interest in how he approached ‘My Sweet Lord’ as a mantra rather than a song. ‘Amplified Ease’ began in a similar fashion, it was more of a repetitive chant different from a verse, chorus arrangement”.
