This April, Montreal indie rock band The Besnard Lakes plan to release their fourth LP, Until In Excess, Imperceptible UFO, and today they’re streaming the first single, “People of the Sticks”.
The four-piece, led by husband & wife team Olga Goreas and Jace Lasek, pick up where they left off on 2010’s The Besnard Lakes Are The Roaring Night. Though dreamy and lush especially around Goreas’ airy vocals the song is not without its moments of spirited bite courtesy of winding guitars and rollicking percussion. Listen to it over at NPR.
Until In Excess, Imperceptible UFO features both new and old faces. Fellow Canadians and Moonface band members Mike Bigelow and Spencer Krug (also formerly of Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown) are contributing, while skillful harpist Sarah Page and the Fifth String Liberation Singers’ Choir return to lend their talents.
