Though they’ve only been playing together for a year, the ladies of Seattle surf-rock outfit La Luz have already made waves (yes, I made that joke) with their Suicide Squeeze single “Brainwash” and Burger Records cassette Damp Face. Now, the quartet’s gearing up to release their debut full-length, It’s Alive, on October 15th via new label Hardly Art.
Our first taste of the record comes courtesy of “Big Big Blood”, a track that begins ever so gently with breezy coos and “ahhhs”‘s before whipping up some fierce and jangly ’60s beach noise. It’s certainly more Dick Dale’s driving “Misirlou” than cutesy “Mashed Potato” dance number.
It’s Alive Tracklist:
01. Sure as Spring
02. All the Time
03. Morning High
04. What Good Am I?
05. Sunstroke
06. It’s Alive
07. Big Big Blood [mp3]
08. Call Me in the Day
09. Pink Slime
10. Phantom Feelings
11. You Can Never Know
La Luz will also embark on a fall tour with of Montreal.
