Vampire Weekend, The Avett Brothers, and Pretty Lights top the lineup for the 2013 installment of Virgin Mobile FreeFest.
The one-day festival, taking place September 21st at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD, also promises performances by MGMT, Chvrches, Kaskade, Icona Pop, Sky Ferreira, Robin Thicke, Washed Out, Madeon, Ghost Beach, City and Colour, and Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears, among others.
Tickets to the festival are free and will be available to the public beginning Friday, August 9th at Noon EDT via Ticketfly. Virgin Mobile customers, prior Virgin Mobile Festival ticket buyers, and Virgin Mobile Facebook friends and Twitter followers will be eligible for a ticket pre-sale, which will be held Thursday, August 8th.
In addition, there will be a limited number of FreeFest Fremium packages which include guaranteed admission to the festival, a FreeFest T-shirt and a souvenir cup that comes with free fountain drinks throughout the festival. A $10 charitable donation will also be made to Virgin Mobile USA’s youth homelessness initiative from the cost of each Fremium package purchased. Fremium tickets are available via Ticketfly or at the Merriweather Post Pavilion and 9:30 Club box offices.
