Miami garage rockers Jacuzzi Boys surprise us with each new single from their self-titled third album, due out September 10th via Hardly Art. Eschewing their more aggressive and straightforward tendencies, we’ve already heard the melodic New Wave of “Double Vision” and the sweltering psych-rock of “Domino Moon”, and today the trio busts out another ace up their sleeve with “Be My Prism”.

Continuing their trip through the musical canon, this latest single sees the band land firmly back in 1960’s Detroit, forging a profoundly joyful garage-pop anthem of sugary sweet guitars and sing-along harmonies. But it’s some of the lighter touches, most notably the inclusion of a full-blown horn section, that infuses the track with a sense of spontaneity. It’s that kind of anything-goes approach that makes their whole sound all that more difficult to plot and even harder to ignore.
