With their latest album New Moon, New York’s The Men made a pronounced shift from a sound that referenced ’70s punk and Sonic Youth to a more country-infused AOR. On October 15th, the band continues their experimentation with the release of a new acoustic EP, Campfire Songs, via Sacred Bones.
Recorded around an actual campfire during the New Moon sessions in Big Indian, NY, the EP features two new songs, “Patience” and “Turn Your Color”, alongside acoustic takes of “Water Babies”, the B-side to the “Electric” single, and album tracks “I Saw Her Face” and “The Seeds”. The 12″ vinyl is accompanied by a 12-page photo booklet of the sessions as shot by bassist Kevin Faulkner.
