blowstalbum Listen to The Blows playful new single, From The Future

The Blow returns today with “From The Future”, the second single off their self-titled comeback album, due out October 1st via Kanine Records. Following the more progressive “Make It Up”, the duo of Khaela Maricich and Melissa Dyne show off their playful side, layering together a bubbly slice of electro-funk marked by chirpy harmonies, crunchy synth grooves, and more than enough handclaps. But amid the good times, Maricich’s lyricism explores slightly more acerbic territory, casting day and night as opposing salesmen in some abstract, uber danceable morality tale (“Day is fake, and you know I’m right/ It shoots all that excessive light/ And just distracts us from the facts/ We’re floating in a vast expanse of black”). Listen in below.

The Blow Tracklist:
01. Make It Up
02. A Kiss
03. From The Future
04. I Tell Myself Everything
05. Invisible
06. Hey
07. Like Girls
08. The Spector
09. Not Dead Yet
10. You’re My Light

This Autumn, Maricich and Dyne will hit the road in support of the new record. Following a few festival gigs in September, including Boomslang, the leg runs from mid-October through early November.
