Earlier this month, London newcomers Woman’s Hour gave us a dose of wistful, tingly pop with their lead single “Darkest Place”. Now, the four-piece have shared its accompanying B-side entitled “Thunder”. While its name may conjure angry, earth-shaking cracks of noise, the track (like its predecessor) is sentimental and feathery to the aural touch. The way it airs out heavy emotions like a weightless lullaby suggests enchanting Beach House vibes. Even vocalist Fiona Jane’s soft, but pained lines (“I’m sorry I let you down for the first time”) somehow sound less like utter disappointment and more like beautiful sadness.
“Darkest Place”/”Thunder” is due out October 21st via Luv Luv Luv Records.
