Phoenix’s ambitious “Take Away Show” features performances in an airplane, at Palace of Versailles

Phoenix continue to support the release of their latest LP Bankrupt! with a new session for La Blogotheque’s “Take Away Show”. The band filmed their first “Take Away Show” back in 2009, performing tracks from Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix in the streets of Paris. This go-around, their session is a little more ambitious.

The setlist includes “Bourgeois” sung in a flying plane (over the Alps), “Entertainment” filmed by a drone, at dawn in the empty gardens of the Palace of Versailles, “Trying to be cool” performed in a boat in Neptune’s bassins, and “Countdown” played in a small garden in the Palace of Versailles.

As La Blogotheque notes, “everything was filmed with one camera, sound recorded on site. EVEN IN THE PLANE. EVEN FOR THE DRONE.” And thus, here’s the new gold standard for video performance sessions:
