Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak reissued on vinyl for Universal Music’s Respect the Classics campaign

808s Kanye Wests 808s & Heartbreak reissued on vinyl for Universal Musics Respect the Classics campaign

Kanye West’s polarizing fourth studio album, 808s & Heartbreak, will soon be re-mastered and reissued on vinyl as part of a new reissue campaign from Universal Music. “Respect The Classics” will “spotlight iconic, genre-defining albums” from the expansive catalogues of Universal subsidiaries Def Jam, Interscope, Priority, and Virgin Records.

The series kicks off on October 22nd with DMX’s first two albums — 1998’s It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot and Flesh Of My Flesh Blood Of My Blood — and will continue next month with releases by 50 Cent, Slick Rick, and Public Enemy. Although the release dates are still unlisted, Yeezy will soon find company in Tupac, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Common, N.E.R.D., and more. Beyond new remasters, it doesn’t appear that any of the releases will pack new or exclusive content.
