Listen: Tara Jane O’Neil’s beautiful new single, “Wordless in Woods”

Former Rodan member and Mount Eerie associate Tara Jane O’Neil has returned after almost five years of radio silence. The Portland multi-instrumentalist and songwriter will release a new album entitled Where Shine New Lights on January 28th, 2014 through her new label home, Kranky. The record marks her first solo LP since 2009’s A Ways Away.

In anticipation, O’Neil has let loose “Wordless In Woods”, a slow-burning, ethereal drifter. Befitting its title, the three-minute track is subtle in its movements, like a secret that’s been barely whispered, its weightless words left hanging in suspension. Tune in below.
